CREATIVITY FOR MENTAL HEALTH!
Practicing art, such as drawing or painting, can ease personal distress or lighten ones mood. If you have a diagnosed mental health condition your doctor could refer you to join a day centre which offer groups for art therapy. Below are two inspiring local art projects included people with mental health difficulties.
Canterbury Mind the Gap
‘An artist-led initiative open to anyone wishing to explore, experience and celebrate the benefits of creativity in mental health’
In 2009 ‘Mind the Gap’ had a magnificent public exhibition of tablecloths created by groups and individuals from across the county.

An exhibition in Maidstone, which mixed works by 30 artists from many different backgrounds, including those with mental and physical handicaps.
